Strength Of Being

Allow yourself to be broken
Walk alone and ache in silence
Or breath a breeze as you cycle through it
Do what you like, if cycling is it
Travel a distance greater than eyes can see
Leave people behind, kind and evil
Love thy neighbor quirky and civil
Buy an animal, for sale if not abandoned
Not buying on principle forsakes him nonetheless
You question yourself as others have done to you
And will continue to pour evermore unto you
So allow yourself to be broken
Walk your son and teach not violence
Not of words or of actions, but of mathematical equations
But rely not on knowledge for power
For you should let him walk alone and ache in silence
Breath a breeze as he cycles through it
Ask him to peddle through bloody knees if he must do it
For what he like or does not, more often than naught
He, like you, will earn something more valuable
Wisdom through experience earned than knowledge taught
By book or by father
Is far a better teacher
And what better than cycling back to your cottage when you’re aged and withered
Your Strength Of Being stands tall as a pillar even in sickness
Thy neighbor, your son and strangers ask for strength akin yours
Not of body that rots with age
But of mind and spirit that is ever young
As an unchecked rage
Of a younger you
Who hasn’t yet walked even a mile or two.
